Angelique Monaghan is a self taught artist who was born in Switzerland and grew up in New Zealand. She is now based in the Kapiti Coast with her three children and her dog. She discovered a passion for art at a young age and started exhibiting from 17 years as part of a group show in a Christchurch Gallery. Since then her artworks have been exhibited in a range of solo and group shows in galleries, cafes and shops across New Zealand and Australia. They also grace private collections across New Zealand, Australia and Switzerland.
She has completed a range of commissioned works including several large scale murals in private homes as well as more public space like business signage and school logos. Her work has also been used as a cover for a book published in 2013. Her works range from emotive portraits and bold abstract figure studies to eerie contemporary surrealism, mingled in with a recent foray into a more nature themed series.
